DHA reacts with amino acids in the outermost layer of your skin to produce color. The longer it stays on before you rinse, the deeper that reaction goes. Rinsing doesn't end the process -- color keeps oxidizing for up to 24 hours after you step out of the shower. What your rinse window actually controls is the ceiling. Get the timing right and the formula does the rest.
Two formulas. Four concentrations.
Here is how to use each one.
Rapid rinse. Rinse at 1-1.5hours for a lighter result, 2-3 hours for medium depth, 4-6 hours for maximum depth. Color keeps building for up to 24 hours after your rinse regardless of when you get in the shower.
Overnight formula. Medium depth. Brut builds gradually and fades the same way. Rinse after 8 hours.
Overnight formula. Rich, dark depth. Visible color, even fade, no guesswork.
Rinse after 8 hours.
Hybrid formula. The concentration is high enough for a rich result, but the rinse window puts the depth in your hands. Color continues to develop for up to 24 hours after rinsing no matter when you step out.
Rinse Window | Result
2-3 Hours | Sunkissed
4 -5 Hours | Medium bronze
6-8 Hours | Rich bronze
First rinse is water only. Pat dry. Your color is not finished yet -- DHA keeps oxidizing for up to 24 hours, so what you see in the mirror right after rinsing is not your final result. Skip sweat, water, and tight clothing to let your color set.
What if I rinse too early?
You still get color. Rinsing early pulls the ceiling down, it does not eliminate the result. If the color is lighter than expected, timing is almost always the reason.
Will color keep developing after I rinse?
Yes. Up to 24 hours. Judge your result the next day, not right after your shower.
Can I sleep in any of these? Brut, Blanc de Noir, and Rose (for the appropriate skin tones) are all formulated for overnight wear. Trust Fund Tan is a rapid rinse formula. Do not sleep in it.
What do I use in the shower?
Water only for your first rinse. Club Soda is safe from your second shower onward. It cleanses without pulling color.
